André Bjerke was a prominent figure on the Norwegian culture scene in the 1990s. He was an authority on Norwegian post-war literature and language, a translator, editor, critic and renowned chess player, but most of all he was the author of non-fiction, children’s books, crime fiction, essays and poetry, for which he is best known. His erudition earned him the epithet "Renaissance man".

Claudel, Philippe

French author and film director born in Dombasle-sur-Meurthe near Nancy where he still lives together with his wife and daughter. His father was in the French resistance, which sparked an interest in how the local population coped during WWII, although his books are mostly concerned with WWI.
Claudel was educated in Nancy and Bichat Luneville. After graduation, he did odd jobs at the same time...
