Harlan Coben is an American author who grew up in a Jewish family in Livingston, New Jersey. He graduated from Livingston High School in 1980, and in 1984 he was awarded an MA in Political Science from Amherst College, Massachusetts, where he was also a prominent basketball player. He then worked as a guide at his grandfather’s travel agency before becoming a full-time author.
